  • Are there any required performances when taking dance lessons?

In June of every year, All That Jazz puts on an annual recital. Students taking lessons are required to participate in this performance. Every class will learn a 2-3 minute routine that will be performed in the show. Throughout the year there may be several non-mandatory dance performance opportunities for students such as parades, talent shows, fairs, fundraisers, etc. Information on these events will be provided via hand-out, bulletin board, Web site and/or word-of-mouth several weeks prior to the event. Competition students will be required to participate in various competitions and other performances throughout the year.

  • What type of fees are required when taking dance classes?

All That Jazz collects monthly tuition the first of every month. This is a mandatory fee required by all students! Tuition amounts are based on how many classes you are taking/how long your classes are. All That Jazz accepts payment in the form of cash or check. Each dancer will be required to purchase proper attire and shoes for class as well as costumes for recital. Costume deposits will be collected in December for each class. More information regarding this will be handed out in class to each student. Throughout the year there will be several non-mandatory items available for purchase such as t-shirts, bags, dancewear, etc. For more information on our pricing policies and tuition payment schedule, please see/contact Karsha.

  • How do I join the All That Jazz Competition Team and what are the requirements?

The All That Jazz Competition Team is composed of young men and women who are looking to elevate their level of performance. Members are selected through an audition process/team placement and decisions are based on ability level, experience, performance skills, dedication, cooperation, interaction with other students, emotion and other skills determined by the judges, director and/or instructors. Members of the team are required to take ballet, summer lessons and Saturday technique class and all dance forms that they will be competing in. Team members will attend 4 to 5 regional competitions a year as well as 1 national competition. • Do classes use age appropriate music, costumes and choreography?

All of the classes at All That Jazz Dance Academy use age appropriate music, costumes and choreography. Songs are edited to be appropriate for in class listening as well as family listening at our annual recital.  All dance costumes are fitted to a dancer's body in order to show off a dancer's lines. We choose the most suitable costumes for a dancer's body type as well as their age. Our choreography is new and innovative but is also adjusted to a class's age group and ability level.
